Recently Simon attended the Chamber of Commerce AGM at the new Drayton Manor hotel. He has been elected for another three years as part of the Divisional Council.
Divisional Council members are elected to serve on the Divisional Council Board, as business representatives. The Board consists of mainly private business representatives, with the support of Lichfield & Tamworth Councils, local colleges and Chamber staff.
The local Divisional Council Chairs sit on the main Chamber Board, ensuring that local issues are heard by the whole Chamber Group. The Divisional Council members help maintain and steer the Chambers local presence and aim to improve the local economy through the efforts of the Chamber. Divisional Council members are embassadors for the Chamber and often sit on various other subgroups and committees, in order to understand the local economy better.
Simon is the Chamber representative for the Lichfield and Tamworth Business & Economic Partnership. This group is also a combination and public, private sector and colleges, but is further reaching to voluntary sectors, local partnerships and other local organisations. The L&T Business & Economic Partnership coordinates all economic activity for the region and feeds upwards into the ‘Greater’ Birmingham Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). The Chamber is a very important partner in the L&T Business & Economic Partnership.
If you would like to get involved in the local Chamber of Commerce or the L&T Business & Economic Partnership, please feel free to contact Simon to discuss.
